LeftWord Books is happily independent with 1804 Books, New York and Inkani Books, South Africa

We are very happy to announce our collaboration with 1804 Books, New York and Inkani Books, South Africa.

We are a New Delhi-based publishing house that seeks to reflect the views of the left in India and South Asia. We publish critical and analytical works on a range of subjects, and pay special attention to works on Marxist theory. We project the interests of the working people and movements for social transformation. Set up in 1999, LeftWord also runs and manages May Day Bookstore.

1804 Books takes its name from the year of the Haitian Revolution, which set the path of liberation in the Americas. It produces books from and for all those who continue the fight for a world free from oppression and exploitation.

Inkani Books is an independent left press in Johannesburg, South Africa. It aims to publish excellent and accessible books that speak to political history, current struggles and issues of contemporary urgency. It has strong links to progressive research institutes, popular publications, social movements, trade unions and radical presses and book stores in South Africa and elsewhere in the world.
