The introduction of metal tools is taken by archaeologists as the beginning of a new era in human history. A Fasinating story of how tools which are used today have been developed by a long process of gradual cumulative improvement from much simpler and less effcient implements of wood, stone bone, bronze or iron, deviced centuries, and sometimes hundred of centuries ago by our rude ancesstors or ape-like precursors.

V. Gordon Childe

Vere Gordon Childe (14 April 1892 - 19 October 1957) is considered the father of modern archaeology. He specialised in the study of European prehistory. A vocal socialist, Childe accepted the socio-economic theory of Marxism and was an early, though unorthodox, proponent of Marxist archaeology. Childe was the author of several well-known books on the subject of archaeology and prehistory.
