C.P. CHANDRASEKHAR and JAYATI GHOSH are Professors at the Centre for Economic Studies and Planning, School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University. They have co-authored Crisis as Conquest: Learning from East Asia (Orient Longman 2001), and are co-editing Globalization, Structural Change and Income Distribution (forthcoming, Tulika 2001). Chandrasekhar has also co-edited India's Socio-Economic Database: Surveys of Selected Areas (Tulika 2001).
